Catapult launches VMI linked to digital order management.
Catapult Print has added vendor managed inventory (VMI) to our industry-leading suite of services.
Leveraging the our bespoke Crystal digital management system and Crystal + app alongside strategic warehousing locations, we can now offer just-in-time inventory management. The new service frees up space for customers while ensuring you have the label stock you need when and where you need it, with real-time agility for drawing down inventory and selecting quantities.
The new service means that Catapult customers need never be more than a day away you’re your next label delivery, providing unprecedented levels of agility and reliability, to ensure that you can respond to fluctuations in demand. The data available from your secure Crystal dashboard enables you to forecast demand and manage order cadence, while the Crystal app enables easy scanning so that inventory levels are available instantly with complete accuracy.
Lewis Cook, CEO of Catapult Print explains: “We have already pioneered a more agile approach to labels by driving down lead times to under five days. But we recognized that some customers’ operations could also benefit from next day delivery at multiple locations and the best way to achieve that on a national scale was to develop a VMI strategy.
“Our whole business model has been developed with agility in mind, along with a keen focus on delivering what the customer needs. Our VMI service is powered by our investment in technology, so that we’re not just scheduling regular next-day deliveries from a local warehouse, but enabling customers to draw down label orders on an as needed basis.”
The tech-enabled VMI service offered by Catapult means that customers using the service can not only draw down specified quantities of local inventory, but can also track what’s left on shelf, the progress on your next order, and the next scheduled order or delivery cycle.
“Our VMI service means that our customers anywhere in the country, or at multiple locations across the country, can work with us as though we were their local print shop, while leveraging the speed, cost and service benefits of our unique business model. We combine the service of a local partner with the capabilities of the label industry’s most dynamic and responsive print provider. Once again, we’re putting the power to drive change into our customers’ hands.”
